Probing Fermi liquid exceptional points through AC conductivity

چکیده

Exceptional points, which are topological non-Hermitian degeneracies, show up in the collective mode spectrum of Fermi liquids with high angular momentum interactions. In this paper, we look for signatures these nontrivial singularities by computing AC conductivity dipolar and quadrupolar interactions a narrow slab. We that finite size slab imprints clear structures as well dephasing between electric field current density wide range coupling constants. particular, fingerprints exceptional observed weak attractive and/or regime. The main result does not depend on specific model quasiparticle also discuss some actual compounds where phenomena could be experimentally observed.

Non Fermi liquid renormalization of the conductivity

The method of the quantum kinetic equation is applied to the problem of renormalization of the conductivity of normal metals by gauge electron-electron interactions. It is shown that in the three-dimensional case the relativistic electromagnetic interaction (vector interaction of electrons with transverse photons) leads to an unusual temperature dependence, indicating a deviation from the Fermi...

Holographic non-Fermi-liquid fixed points.

Techniques arising from string theory can be used to study assemblies of strongly interacting fermions. Via this 'holographic duality', various strongly coupled many-body systems are solved using an auxiliary theory of gravity. Simple holographic realizations of finite density exhibit single-particle spectral functions with sharp Fermi surfaces, of a form distinct from those of the Landau theor...

Relaxation and Thermal Conductivity of Hot and Thermal Quasiparticles and Fermi Liquid Interactions in d-wave Superconductors

In this paper, we calculate theoretically the relaxation rates of hot, thermal and antinodal quasiparticles by using Fermi’s golden rule. The transition probabilities at low temperatures express in terms of Bogoliubov coefficients, singlet and triplet scattering amplitudes and dimensionless Landau parameters. The values of Landau parameters may be determined by comparison with the experimental ...

Observation of bulk Fermi arc and polarization half charge from paired exceptional points.

The ideas of topology have found tremendous success in closed physical systems, but even richer properties exist in the more general open or dissipative framework. We theoretically propose and experimentally demonstrate a bulk Fermi arc that develops from non-Hermitian radiative losses in an open system of photonic crystal slabs. Moreover, we discover half-integer topological charges in the pol...
